My Tribute To #AllSummerSixteen

It’s about to be fall, and I am so excited ya’ll! Time to pull out the fitted jeans, rider boots, and cute fall sweaters. But before I can jump into full fall mode, I have to pay my respects to the summer. It went by so fast, but it was full of amazing experiences. Although there is so much I could tell you, I’ve decided to narrow it down to my top 3 moments of #AllSummerSixteen.

# 1 There was the food …

I found some really good food spots this summer. But if I had to choose my favorite new discovery, it would have to be GCDC|Grilled Cheese Bar in Washington, D.C. Let me start by letting you know that grilled cheese is my favorite meal ever, so when I heard there was place that had grilled cheese as a specialty, I knew I had to check it out. And I’m glad I did because, the mushroom and cheddar grilled cheese sandwich there was Ahhh-MAZING!!!

I decided to be a good girl and eat a salad on the side….

…that is until I found out they served LOADED TATER TOTS?? Ummm…yes please?!

#2 There was the music…

When it comes to music, I am a fiend. So when I heard that artists like Common and Estelle were performing at the African American Festival in Baltimore, I was all over it!

The stage was lit.  There were tons of people. I was ready for the show to start…

Of course I took a selfie…had to make sure I was looking good for my boo, Common.

And then the show started…When Common came on stage with all of his fineness, I almost lost it! Oh…and in case you’re wondering, the only reason I didn’t take any pictures with him is because he had to perform all night…and also because he has no clue who I am (that’s a minor detail though).

#3 There was the trip to Memphis…

Out of everything that happened this summer, I’d say that my trip to Memphis was my favorite. I had to get out of my comfort zone in quite a few ways while I was there, and it forced me to meet some very interesting people. Don’t worry, you’ll get to meet them too…and very soon! Until then, here are a few pictures that I was able to snag of some of the places I saw while I was there.

National Civil Rights Museum

Outside of the Blues Hall of Fame

B.B. King’s Blues Club

The famous Hard Rock Cafe

Summer may be over, but there is still so much more fun to be had, and so many topics to cover in the new season! So BRING IT ON FALL…we’re ready now!
